Welcome to Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities of Cortland County (CCOCC) is a private, non-profit Human Service agency with a 35-year history of service provision in Cortland County. Services are targeted to those suffering from mental illness and substance abuse, people living in poverty, delinquent and at risk youth. Our basic services include case management, residential services, and emergency assistance. The agency was incorporated in 1925 as part of the larger seven county Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Syracuse, which includes Cortland, Broome, Onondaga, Oneida, Madison, Chenango, and Oswego Counties.
We are committed to a vision of a better life for people who live in proverty, are vulnerable or disabled, who struggle with recovery, or are troubled. Our dedication to helping people through direct service, advocacy, convening, and empowerment is part of our mission and is demonstrated daily in an environment that values human dignity, social justice, and respect.
Catholic Charities -- Helping People Help Themselves Since 1976
Catholic Charities is experiencing problems with the phone system at the offices located at 33-35 Central Avenue; 607-756-5992. Automated answering is working most of the time, but occasionally you may not be able to get through. The system is very inconsistent and it will remain so until our new system is installed. It may be helpful if you have the extension number of the specific staff you are trying to reach (see directory here), as using the automated agency directory is a point of failure in the system presently. If you get through to Mary Jordan at the front desk, ext. 10, she will be glad to convey a message. If you cannot get through by phone, you can send a fax to the location asking for a call back or send an email. Our email addresses all follow the same pattern: first initial, last firstname.lastname@example.org (with no spaces). For example, email@example.com is Mary Jordan. Thanks for your patience while we deal with this situation.
