Participation

The Peer Services staff is dedicated to helping others reinvest themselves in the community, and most are Certified Peer Specialists.  Individuals must be stable and able to function in the community without supervision while they are utilizing the center's services.

Program Expectations

Individuals may call the Wishing Wellness Center to make an appointment with the peer support staff. Wishing Wellness staff is adept at navigating resources in the community and connecting people with the services they need.

Get Involved

Our doors are always open to individuals looking to find help in their recovery.  We also help to support family members who are concerned about their loved ones dealing with mental health challenges and who would like more information on how to support them.

Feel free to participate in our engagement program or call us and we can come to you!  We'd love the opportunity to speak with you about how we can help on your recovery journey.

Peer Engagement

The Peer Engagement Program assists individuals by connecting or reconnecting them with providers and other supports in the Cortland Community.  Peer Specialists utilize their education, training, and personal recovery experiences to help individuals and families impacted by mental health difficulties.

Peers are integral and valued members of a multi-disciplinary team, providing support and assistance to those receiving services.

We provide encouragement for individuals to follow a consistent and healthy treatment program and to find beneficial strategies to assist with their mental health needs.  Peer staff work with individuals linking them with treatment and teaching them to take a more active role in their recovery. We are able to work with individuals on-site, in their home, and in other community-based locations. Some of the services we provide include the following:

Peer Support

Peer mentoring

Attending mental health appointments

Empowerment

Individual Engagement

Meeting people in their homes to share experiences in recovery

Making connections to treatment supports & resources

Group Engagement

Connecting individuals to community events & recreation activities
